End of Term & Christmas Update

Here at school all is well and we are more than grateful for the far we have come thanks to your continued support.

79 sixth graders, 77 9th graders and 34 form 4 students graduated in the month of November, this is testament of the hard work they have put in over the years to achieve this milestone. They learned, endured, did everything that was expected of them despite the odds they face and we are more than glad for the far they have come and the continued support.

Education & Term Update

We reopened school for the third and final term of this calender year on the 26th of August 2025. 867 students in primary school, 100 girls in high school, 80 boys in our boys school have had a good term that ended on the 24th of October 2025. The other students went on the long break with the graduating students in grade 6, 9 and from form 4s starting their national exams from the 27th of October to the 21st of November 2025.

190 students sat this years national exams.All went well during the exam period . The national exams results will be released in December and we will share the results once received. For most of children in the Kibagare and sorrounding slums, our school is the one place they are guaranteed of learning, feeding and a conducive enviroment to be children away from the challenges they face in the informal settlements. Most of them have no guarantees of schooling and through the support we receive we are able to see to it that the graduate with dignity and honor.

School Feeding and the weekend Feeding program

Our school daily feeding program and Saturday have continued for the period the children have been in school this term. 867 children attending our school daily and the more the 1300 who have attend our weekend feeding program every week has continued to reduce food related diseases like malnutrition and having children fend for themselves thus being forced into the streets or missing out on school due to challenges at home. Our school feeding program goes beyond just feeding the child as it ensure they do not have to chose between attending classes or looking for a meal. The consistency in support has helped us a lot in achieving the much we have in the feeding of the children from this community.

Looking ahead to 2026 and ongoing

In the last week of November we conducted interviews for children and their guardians wishing joining Pre Primary 1 and grade 7 in 2026. Most of the children and their guardians who attended the interviews were eager for a chance to join the school and we hope to get a good number when school reopens in January 2026. Our senior schools are also in the process of enrolling students for senior school in 2026.

December is also the best time to do repairs in the school as we wait for the next school calendar year to start. We are doing the necessary repairs in the to ensure that we have a conducive learning enviroment for study when we resume in a few weeks time and also that we have a well maintained facility for our students and staff.

We are grateful for your support this term, you made it possible for the more than 1000 students and staff to learn, grow and reach their milestones and your support goes a long way in ensuring that St Martins School meet its annual objective of educating the most needy from this community and beyond. Your support gives hope and the belief that despite the circustances there is still an opportunity to thrive.
