We are nearing the end of the first term of 2025, and we are immensely grateful for our progress, thanks to your continued support. Below are some of this term's activities and achievements.
Open Day
We reopened the school on January 6, 2025. The term had 13 learning weeks. Most of our students reported back after the long November-December break. We welcomed them back and appreciated that we did not lose any students, which is often a challenge due to the economic difficulties many families face in Kibagare slum and Nairobi in general.
Welcoming New Students
This term, we welcomed 71 new students to Pre-Primary 1. They have integrated well into the school environment and enjoyed a positive start to their learning year. Our teachers have been incredibly helpful, ensuring that newcomers settle in smoothly. We are deeply thankful for their commitment to our students' well-being.
Emphasizing Athletics
The school curriculum encourages sports and extracurricular activities as essential parts of a child's development. We encourage our students to participate in many activities. This term, 88 students engaged in athletics at the zonal, sub-county, and county competitions in both short and long races. They performed remarkably well and are now eagerly awaiting results to determine whether they will compete at the national level later this year.
Basketball Competitions
Two teams, consisting of 20 students, participated in basketball inter-school competitions at the zonal level. Due to strong competition, they did not advance past the zonal stage. However, they remain hopeful for better performance in the coming year.
Football and Volleyball Success
Our high school girls participated in football and volleyball inter-school competitions at the zonal, county, and regional levels. They have performed admirably and are currently awaiting results that will decide if they can represent the school at the national level later this year.
Field and Track Events
Our students also engaged in field and track events this term, featuring Javelin, Shot Put, Long Jump, Triple Jump, and Discus competitions. They excelled at the zonal, sub-county, and county levels. Excitingly, two of our students have qualified for the national championships, which will occur later this year.
Academic Milestones and Graduations
This term is especially significant as our first cohort of grade 9 students will graduate this year. Seventy-seven students are expected to graduate and transition to senior school in 2026. Additionally, 72 students in grade 6 and 34 in high school will sit for their national exams in October and November this year. The grade 6 students will move on to junior high, while our high school girls will be eligible to join colleges and universities next year.
Students completed their opener, mid-term, and end-term exams during this first term of 2025. They demonstrated great commitment and hard work, along with the efforts of our teachers and support staff. This collaboration led to noticeable improvements in overall school grades and individual performances. We aim to build on this success as we prepare for the national exams and the upcoming second term.
Anticipating Closing Day
The school will close this week for a three-week holiday break. We are grateful for all we have accomplished this term, and we look forward to the next term beginning on April 29.
Sponsorship Renewals: Your Impact Counts
Sponsorship renewals for the current year are proceeding smoothly for those who have signed up for monthly and annual options. These renewals are vital for ensuring our students receive quality education, learning materials, uniforms, access to technology, meals, and a conducive learning environment. Your generosity has a direct impact on the lives of many children, enabling them to receive education without financial barriers. With continued sponsorship, we can offer more students the resources they need to succeed.
Thank you for making a lasting impact and difference in our children's lives. Your support shapes their futures and fosters a brighter tomorrow.
