From the Classroom: St. Martin’s Term 1 Highlights!

Greetings from St. Martin’s School! Term 1 has officially wrapped up, and what a breathtaking 14 weeks it has been.

For many of our children, the long holiday break in the slum environment can be incredibly challenging without the structure of a classroom. But thanks to your our sponsors support support, 923 primary and 107 secondary students didn't just report back—they stepped up, worked hard, and thrived.

Here is a quick, high-impact look at the extraordinary milestones our community achieved this term:

📚 Academic Grit & Growth

Students tackled their mid-term and end-of-term exams with incredible determination. While we are celebrating strong overall performances across the board, we are also rolling up our sleeves to give our students extra support in Math and Science next term.

🏆 Champions on the Field & Stage

Over 200 students stepped outside the classroom to compete at zonal, sub-county, and regional levels, showing us that confidence is built through teamwork and healthy competition.

  • Athletics: Our young athletes didn't disappoint, with individual students qualifying for the regional levels in Cross Country, the 400 meters, and Triple Jump.

  • Basketball: Our teams went head-to-head with top schools across the region, sharpening their skills and building unbreakable team chemistry.

  • Music: We took home the gold! Our brilliant music team emerged as the best team at the regional level in the CAPEIA music competition, bringing home a trophy that reflects hours of passionate rehearsal.

💡 Innovation Spotlight: The Smart Recycling Bin

Our young innovators turned heads at the Science and Technology Fair. They designed and built an electronically-controlled recycling bin that uses sensors to automatically sort trash. This project is a brilliant, real-world solution to waste management and environmental sustainability right here in our Kibagare community.

🎉 Ending with Pure Joy

Because we firmly believe that a happy child learns better, we closed out the term with a massive, school-wide Fun Day. After months of intense studying and competing, the children were given the gift of pure, unstructured play and laughter. The smiles on their faces were all the confirmation we needed that it was the perfect send-off.

💙 Together, We are Building the Future

As we head into Term 2, we want to say a massive thank you to our donors, sponsors, and friends. Your generosity is felt in every classroom, every sports practice, and every innovation fair where our children stand tall. You prove what is possible when a community decides to make a difference.

We are building something extraordinary—together!
